Lake Arrowhead, CA

Lake Arrowhead, CA

If you haven’t ever been, this post will give you some great information and tips on what to do and where to stay. The rental home we stayed at is a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom, centrally (&perfectly) located, gorgeously decorated cabin. It’s safe to say, it was basically the most adorable place ever! If you are planning a trip to Lake Arrowhead click hereΒ to be directed to their rental site. Plus, you can rent it anytime during the year, summer fun with a 5 minute walk to the lake or winter fun, with a short drive to the slopes and sledding.

Things To Do:

Year Round:

There are a multitude of activities for year round fun in Lake Arrowhead. From the cabin listed above, there is only a 15 minute walk to the Village. You will loop around the lake, through the trees, on a beautiful trail that leads directly to the Village. The Village is where the locals and residents of Lake Arrowhead go to shop, dine, feed the ducks, walk their dogs, and so much more. They have live bands frequently and waterfront views from almost everywhere! Side note: If I could live here, I would, and you would too after checking it out. Another side note: One of the best breakfast spots in Lake Arrowhead is Belgian Waffle Works at the Village. Their menu is filled with absolutely mouth drooling options, so when you go, make sure to reserve one breakfast at the Village.

Summer:

Lake Arrowhead is a private lake, meaning you have to pay for a membership to be able to boat on it. This is a major benefit for people that visit and use Lake Arrowhead because there aren’t thousands of people there. It isn’t overly crowded like Big Bear, for example. It is a perfect, relaxing getaway, even with the kids and pets! If you don’t have a boat, don’t worry, there are boat rentals at the Village. Or, if you just wanted to learn how to wake board or ski, there is an option for that too! No experience necessary, they will teach you. If you are really wanting the relaxing option, just walk to the nearest cove and lay out a beach towel! From our cabin, the closest cove was just a 3 or 4 minute walk. It was truly incredible, and we felt so appreciative to be able to do everything we did for such a low cost.

Winter:

In the Winter, Lake Arrowhead is just as, if not more gorgeous than in Summer. The snow fills the beautiful dark green mountains and pine trees with white snow that glistens in the sunlight. One of my favorite things about Lake Arrowhead in the winter is how secluded you feel. Like previously stated, being in a bigger city like Big Bear is full of people who are there to party. By staying just a 20 minute drive away, we were able to enjoy the blissfulness that Arrowhead has to offer. And the days that we felt like doing more, we just drove up to Big Bear and went Snowboarding, Skiing, or Sledding. All of which were a blast btw. More About the Cabin We Stayed In:

After a long day of physical activity, sometimes it is best to enjoy the amenities of the cabin. And when I say this cabin has it all, I mean it – a fireplace, a balcony with a beautiful view of the pine trees, a super comfy couch, the most gorgeous standalone bathtub, and more! So why not stay in, make some yummy winter cocktails, and play board games?!

The game of Life is so much better when you are in the mountains, by the fireplace, drinking wine and eating cheese from the Grapevine (more on that below).

Dog Friendly Areas

Throughout the Village, I recommend you bring your pets so they can enjoy the stunning scenery and fun in the sun too! People and stores here are very dog friendly, especially the Dog Bakery, and if you didn’t bring the pets up to the mountain with you, don’t forget to get your best friends some treats to-go!
