Lavender Festival in Southern California
If you live in or near Southern California and haven’t been to the Lavender Festival in Cherry Valley, you are making a big mistake! Firstly, I truly fell in love with Lavender the first time I went to a Lavender Field. Many farms that grow large sums of Lavender have little tours and shops that you can purchase their items from. These items range from lotion to facial masks to lavender ice cream. ALL of which are amazing. Trust me when I say, you will be happy you went, even just for an hour or so, if you’re a woman, man, or child. It’s fun for all.
Soooo… What’s It Like?!
I don’t want to give away all of the surprises, but here are a few things that you can expect when you get there. When you first enter, you will have to buy tickets, which were only about $10 a person. You will then have Lavender Fields on both sides of you as you walk up. Don’t be afraid to walk through them, get some pics, and smell as many as you can. Side note: Lavender has tons of benefits, including: reduces anxiety and stress, improves sleep, and restores skin complexion. After a short walk past the fields, you will start to see vendor locations (tents where they sell lavender infused things). Definitely walk through and sample the lotions and oils, they are to die for.
There are more vendor tents towards the back of the property, so don’t buy everything at the first tent you see. During your walking around, I am sure you will be thirsty and hungry. I have to say that the Lavender Beer is pretty good, but the Lavender Mojito was VERY good. If you like mojitos, give it a try. If you don’t feel like drinking alcohol, or want a good drink for the kids, try the Lavender Lemonade, it’s absolutely delicious. The food on the other hand was nothing to rave about, but it was good enough to eat and move on. I’m sure next year’s festival will have improved on the food though, so try whichever vendors you like! Oops, I almost forgot! The food isn’t the best in the world, but the Lavender Desserts are! There is Lavender Cheesecake and Lavender Ice Cream. Don’t try to decide between the two. You deserve better. You deserve both! Trust me on this one, get both. SO good.
Fun For All Ages
There are also some adult and children’s activities, including horse rides for $8 each and a variety of workshops. If you go on their website, you will see all of them, but they are all very fun in their own way! If you don’t feel like doing any activities, you can watch the demo on how they distill their Lavender Essential Oils which helps in creating many of the great items you are going to get the chance to try!
The Annual Lavender Festival is usually held in June, which is hot in Cherry Valley, so bring sunscreen, and try to go early in the morning. Tons of people go, and it gets crowded during the middle of the day. You may even have to park a few miles away and take their little bus system to get to and from the festival, which is simple, but easier to get there early and park up close. No matter what time you go, you will have a blast and most likely leave with a little goody bag. If you’re anything like me, you’ll at least have a Lavender Lotion and a Lavender Chapstick. Heck, I got so much more than that, Lavender Deodorant, Lavender Facial Scrub, Lavender Olive Oil, and more! Lol. Anyways, I hope you had fun reading and I hope to see you there next year! Click the link above and bookmark their page or calendar the event so you don’t forget! It’s just a short drive from LA, Palm Springs, and even Vegas.
