Beauty Products You Need To Know About

Happy Wednesday Babes!

Those of you that follow me on Instagram already know that A LOT of companies reach out and want to send me free products to review. I am all about this, but I am extremely particular about what products I accept. There is some criteria that must be met.

  • Cruelty-free
    • This one is major for me! I am a HUGE animal lover… I’m taking all animals not just domesticated fur babies. I would never support a company that tests their products on these innocent and adorable animals.
  • Green Skincare Products
    • I do not use products that are packed with chemicals! My skin is more on the sensitive side so using products with harsh chemicals will leave it irritated and very unpleasant looking.
  • I heavily support small business, veteran companies, and locally owned business. As a female, small business owner, who is engaged to a veteran, these hold a spot in my heart. This doesn’t mean that I won’t accept products from bigger companies every now and then.

Let’s get to the products!

 Shea Moisture Cleansing Oil

Cleansing Oils are where its at! Let me tell you: perfect for dry & combination skin, sensitive and great at removing makeup.  Back in my modeling days, MUA (makeup artists) would quite frequently use waterproof makeup and that is a bi*!h to clean off. I have never been a fan of wearing makeup in general so those days I would triple wash my face… that is until I found out about cleansing oils. They are a godsend in these situations and they leave my skin feeling so soft and provide nutrients from the oils.

Rosewater

Perfect for all skin types and all ages of skin. I use Rose Water after cleansing or as a mid-day pick me up for my skin. So why use it? Well… it is an anti-inflammatory and this is great for those of you suffering from acne, eczema, dermatitis, and redness or irritations. Rose water also aids in balancing your skin’s pH. Do you have scars, cuts, or wounds? If so, then this is exactly what you need to diminish the appearance, as rose water is an antibacterial. Just a few more benefits are the moisturizing properties, cleans pores, tones skin, and diminishes those fine lines. Make sure when purchasing that you get real rose water, not the kind that’s packed full of other ingredients aka fillers.

Gunther’s All Natural Dry Shampoo

Sometimes all we need is to give our hair a little pick me up and Gunther’s All Natural Dry Shampoo is it. This is a recent discovery for me. I’ve tried other dry shampoo before and well they all suck. ha, ha! Seriously though, all my fellow brunettes out there know the struggle of finding a good dry shampoo to blend in with your hair and not leave a nasty grey(ish) residue!! This dry shampoo come in a nifty pump action bottle and smell UH-mazing. Every bottle is hand crafted which makes it extra special. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Moroccan Magic Lip Balm

Those of you following me on Instagram and/or Facebook already know my deep love for this product and company!! Moroccan Magic is a female owned company that uses only natural ingredients in their astoundingly scented lip balms. I carry 1-2 of their balms in my purse at all time. Currently my fave scent is the Rose… shocking huh? lol

*** Those of you that follow me on social media, stay tuned because next month Moroccan Magic and I have a surprise in store for you!

Ahava

Skin. Hair. Body Care.

This Eco-Conscious company has found the perfect balance of science and nature. All products are vegan, ideal for sensitive skin, and contain ingredients from the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea has been known for many years of it’s skin enhancing benefits. Ahava can be on the pricier side, but is totally worth it! I am a big fan of their skincare and body care products. I have yet to try out there hair care products, but I’m sure they work just as well as the others. As I have mentioned before, I have sensitive skin so finding products that are delicate enough and yet still work was difficult before I was introduced to Ahava.

As Fall approaches and all the big drinking holidays ( Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years), I highly recommend purchasing Ahava’s Hydrating mask. After a day/night of drinking your skin looks de-hydrated so applying this on before bed will make you look refreshed, hydrated and ready to take on the day. No one will eve notice that you drank a little too much of that egg nog.
