Queen Kapiolani Hotel

REVIEW

Happy Monday Friends! Last week I spent 5 days in Waikiki ( but you already knew that because you follow me on Instagram πŸ˜‰ am I right?! ).

Choosing a place to stay can be one of the toughest parts about organizng a trip. We want to be centrally located, stay in a clean facility, with good food, maybe even a bar, pleasant staffing, and most importantly reasonable prices!! The Queen Kapiolani was all this and MORE. Let me tell you all about it.

The newly rennovated Queen Kapiolani Hotel was just 2 short blocks from Waikiki Beach; each and every morning I walked straight out of my room with a cup of coffee and made my way to the beach for the most incredible sunrise. A little insight for those of you not familiar with Oahu – Waikiki Beach is where its at. lol! Beautiful beach that is family oriented, miles of hotels, top quality restauraunts, bars, shopping, and just about everything you could imagine.

Okay back on track, the SERVICE WAS GREAT!!! The staff was so pleasant and helpful!  I got very sick ( on day 2 of my trip) and they were so sweet and accomadated me in every way possible. They noticed I was sipping tea all day and when the coffee shop closed for the evening they had an electric kettle sent to my room. How kind are they?!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

As I mentioned above, Queen Kapiolani was centrally located! I was right off H1 so the breeze of getting over to the Norht Shore was no problem and yet I was only 2 blocks from Waikiki Beach. It was so perfect! This trip, I did have a rental car, but parking is a big pain in the A$$ in Waikiki so every chance I was able to walk to my destination I was thrilled.

This isn’t my first time to Oahu, shoot I’ve been there more than I can count on two hands. So I know my way around this plae pretty well and I have sme FAVE spots I have to check out every time I’m there. I will share these with you on my FOODIE FAVES post coming upp in a few days, but for now all you need to know is that they were all within walking distance from my hotel. YESSSSSSSSSS!!

HOTEL ROOM

How cute was my room?! They did an excellent job creating a serene, yet modern feel that did not take away from the natural beauty of the island. Lots and Lots of big windows with a gorgeous view of the beach on one side and the mountains on the other. Waking up to that landscape was incredible.

Clean and everything was environmentally friendly. All their samples of sunblock, moistutrizers, and more were provided with the reef and oceans in mind. This hotel is all about saving the oceans: reusable straws, bamboo utensils, and more can be found instead of traditional items.

ACCOMODATIONS

Take a walk around the beautiful hotel grounds. There is so much to appreciate there from the entire gallery with beautiful/ historic images from Hawaiian and British ancestory to the simple, yet architecturally pleasing sitting areas for those to enjoy a good book or a quick meditation session.

Fitness Center

Let me start off by saying WOW. Perfect for even the biggest gym rat! I have stayed at some of the most lavish hotels and resorts around the world and yet this fitness center has got them beat! Whether you are lookign to fit in cardio, weights, barre, pilates, yoga, some stretching, or even a high intensity dance class this fitness center has you covered. I don’t want to give away too much so here a a few pics to give you a teaser of what you can expect…

Pool

Their pool is open 24/7 can I get a hell yessssssss?! With the bar just steps away you can order cocktails, mocktails, water, and all sorts of yummy food straight to your lounge chair. Soak up some vitamin D while you sip on on some vitamin C (mimosas count hehe). On the weekends live music is performed right there and livens up the area!

The Deck:

Located next to the pool and bar on their 3rd floor, this bar and grill is the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat. They have a wide selection of food options from delicious fish tacos to savory chicken wings. I was so pleased with their food selection, though their pricing was on the high side, but then again isn’t everything in Hawaii?!

Looking for a good deal? Wait until 4pm and you can order drinks and “pupu’s” aka appetizers off their Happy Hour menu! They have a great selection and I literally tried EVERYTHING on this menu and enjoyed it ALL!

A big bummer was that on Sunday’s when we were looking to start our day with mimosas by the pool we were dissapointed by the news that the pool bar did not open until 1pm. Also if you were hoping for a blended drink, don’t get your hopes up because they don’t offer those. No Pina Colada’s for us this trip.

Roasted Knot Coffee:

For all my coffee addicts… this is the spot. The rooms aren’t provioded with coffee pots anymore. Less and less hotels are continuing to offer that and it is sort of a bummer! So since you don’t have coffee in your room, the closest and tastiest cofffee is at the Roasted Knot. Located in the main lobby you will find this coffee shop AND ready for it… specialty cocktail bar.

Yep you heard me correctly, they offer some of the hotels specialty cocktails on tap. If you are looking for a blended cocktail, this is the spot I mentioned above.

I hope you all enjoyed this article and found it beneficial for booking your next stay in Oahu. If you have any questions that I might not have answered on today’s post, send me an email or comment below! I love helping you all organize and book your next perfect vacay.

Xx
