Okay, you found out your pregnant and now you are binge shopping on Amazon for all the products you think you NEED to have. STOP right there. Let me save you some time and money by breaking down what you need, want, and can totally live without in your first trimester.
Products You’ll Need
Quitting coffee cold turkey might not be possible for every mama out there so ease yourself off slowly. These coffee grounds are the perfect way to enjoy your delicious cup of coffee in the morning, while providing you the pick me up you need, and it’s safe for the baby! Yes this is 1/4 caf, NO that does not mean you get to enjoy numerous cups of coffee. I highly propose using this coffee to wean yourself off of caffeine in general.
Sea Band nausea relief wristbands are the craziest thing and yes they provide relief! They use acupuncture methods to alleviate the feeling of morning sickness or in my case all day sickness, yuck. I have never tried acupuncture so I was a little skeptical when I bought these, but they came as a recommendation from a friend who has three children so I said why not give it a shot. BOY am I happy I did! Though my morning sickness did not dissipate completely, it did minimize the nausea.
Drinking only water, all day long can get a bit boring. Transitioning to strictly water was a tough one for me; though I wasn’t a soda or juice drinker, I survived off of coffee and tea. If you are anything like me, implementing this tea into your daily routine can assist you with kicking those bad drinks to the curb. This tea also assists with a healthy pregnancy and will aid in the birth of your child.
Morning sickness hit me fast and hard and these sweets became a lifesaver! Pink Stork has a ton of wonderful products that range from PMS to postpartum and everything in between, they even have fertility supplements for men. I started using their PMS supplements to ease my horrendous symptoms, then moved on over to fertility, and now I’m using their pregnancy products! I love them all!
HINT: Sometimes liquid prenatals are easier to stomach than swallowing a pill. Pink Stork is woman owned and the wife of a veteran, as a female business owner and a wife of a veteran these stand close to my heart.
This product was a lifesaver!! There were days I couldn’t even keep down water, but I had to stay hydrated so I would eat one or two of these and it provided me some nutrients. THESE ARE NOT WATER OR MEAL REPLACEMENTS by any means, but you may find some days a popsicle may be the only thing your body will allow. Pedialyte Freezer Pops were brought to my attention after reading a new mom brochure. Lots of new moms shared their struggles of the first trimester and what they did to overcome the nausea. Immediately after reading the woman who recommended these, I sent my husband to 3 different stores in search for them and no luck. I had given up hope and then 2 days later I received a package from Amazon and he had ordered them on Prime. Woo hoo! Bonus points for him!
If I had one product out of this entire list that I had to choose to recommend, it would be these! They got me through some dark days. Good luck out there first trimester mommies!!
Products You Want
I am a stomach sleeper so transitioning to side sleeping was super hard for me so my doctor recommended getting a pregnancy pillow in my first trimester rather than the second. I will say this did help me make the switch to side sleeping fairly quickly, but to save money I could have waited another month or two to purchase this. This really isn’t a necessity in the beginning stages of pregnancy… once your belly starts to appear, this thing is a life saver!
Ahh, maternity clothes. Scrolling through Pinterest and Amazon scoping out all the adorable maternity outfits I plan to wear throughout this pregnancy can be so fun, but don’t waste your money purchasing anything yet. Stick with your PJ’s, sweat pants, and even your hubbies workout clothes for the first few months. There usually isn’t enough weight gain in the first 13 weeks to justify spending copious amounts of cash on clothes you might even outgrow in a few weeks. When the belly starts to make it’s appearance, then start your maternity clothes shopping.

Products That Are Completely Unnecessary At This Point
Don’t rush to purchase everything you want right away. Enjoy these next few months and shop when you start to need the items, trust me it’s more fun that way.
