My Top Palm Desert Coffee Shops

But first, Coffee.

Am I right?! Coffee is a must first thing in the morning, but it is also a godsend around 2pm … you know during that mid-day slump. Well lucky for us, coffee shops are trending and going up on just about every corner of every city! If you are visiting a decently poulated town, don’t worry there is probably a place to get your large, non-fat, vanilla, iced latte.

This new trend of coffee shops has brought more awareness to the art of brewing a good cup of coffee oh yeah and don’t forget the ever so popular latte art.

Coffee Shops are no longer a place to read the newspaper while drinking your black cup of dark roast coffee. These are the it places. I’m talking, Snapchat + Instagram worthy latte art and crafting seasonal beverages, like the popular Pumpkin Spice Latte.

A few weeks back I wrote a post on things to do when in Palm Desert, CA… missed it? Don’t worry you can read it here. One major part of my life when I visit Palm Desert is to stop in at a few of their adorable coffee shops.

My Top 5 You’ve Gotta Visit:

  • KoffiΒ

There are three locations down in the Coachella Valley, two in Palm Springs and the other in Rancho Mirage. I prefer the one in Rancho Mirage since it is closer to where I usually stay when I am in town.

This adorable coffee house roasts all their coffee, in-house. Don’t think this makes much of a difference… trust me, it does! They are locally owend and operated. Both indoor + outdoor seating is available for you to choose from. They never seem to get too loud so in the warmer months you can sit indoors and still get work done without being distracted. Free wifi, YAY!

Every time I have been there I try soemthing new to eat + drink. I often leave the decision up to the staff and every time they have provided me with the perfect match for my mood. I literally walk in and say i;m in the mood for a hot, sweet coffee beverage make me something good and viola they provide! Overall the staff has always been extremely friendly and hard working.

One major reason I love this place is that many coffee shops tend to close around 2pm-3pm, but during the Fall/Winter Koffi stays open until 6pm!! I can go spend most of my afternoon there behind my latptop, getting work done, and sippin’ on coffee.

  • Just Java Coffee

Located in Palm Desert on Washington & Hovely Lane this hidden gem is a delight! In a rush? Just cruise on through there drive through and pick up a delicious coffee + bite to eat. Prefer to order in? They have both indoor and a large outdoor seating area for you to choose from. On the weekends this place can get quite popular so plan on a little wait or a good search for some available seats.

It can get a little loud for my liking ( I tend to get easily sidetracked so I prefer quiter surroundings) so I will often take my coffee and food to go. If you are looking for a refreshing and tasty sandwich I highly recommend the veggie bagel! They offer 3 choices of sides, hard boiled egg, fruit cup, and or whole fruit like a banana or apple.

  • Fix Dessert House

Don’t let the name fool you! This place has it all: a full menu, fresh baked desserts, specialty coffee beverages, in-store made gelato, and even a full bar. You know for when the coffee just aint cutting it. LOL!

Whenever someone asks me where to go I always recommend this place, you just can’t go wrong!! If you are looking for a hearty meal, order the hangover skillet!

Their outdoor seating area overlooks El Paseo and is dog friendly (love, love, love). Free wifi so you can bring your work with you. Depending on the day & time the noise varies. I found it a decent place to get work done.

  • Old Town Coffee Company

Okay this one may not be considered Palm Desert, but it is right next door in the ADORABLE city of La Quinta. ** Stay tuned for a post all about my trip to La Quinta!!

Old town La Quinta is full of boutiques, restaraunts, bars, and on Sunday’s the coolest Farmers Market! In the center of this is a coffee shop called, Old Town Coffee Company. They have limited, but yummy food options, and a huuuuuge menu with different drink options.

Free wifi is available indoors or on their patio seating area. They usually have football on their tv when we go in, but muted so you can hear the fun coffee shop tunes playing over the speaker system.

  • Β IW CoffeeΒ

Located in Indian Wells is this super hip + adorable coffee shop! We stumbled upon it, thanks to Yelp of course, and viola it is now our fave place to grab a specialty coffee. It is so hard to find a coffee drink that Cody likes… since he doesn’t actually like the taste of coffee. This place offers several sweeter options like their Cinnamon Honey Latte + the Lavender Honey Latte, both delicious, but wayyyy too sweet for my liking. Him on the other hand… well he is obsessed!

Consistantly busy, this coffee spot is the place to be! Indoor and outoor seating, free wifi, and the perfect spot to catch up with friends or get work done.

Hungry? They have limited, but great food options! There sandwiches will run you about $7.50 on average, but they are filling. As you can see in my picture below, they don’t short you on toppings.
